Access to Care

Interim Chair:  Robert Niezgoda  (niezgr@lpha.mopublic.org)

Mission:  To assess needs, prioritize services, collaborate with community resources and align bridging activities to provide access to healthcare and support services for Stone and Taney Counties.

Vision:  All Stone and Taney Counties will have access to healthcare and support services.

The Access to Care Action Team works to create pathways to increased healthcare and social support services for the uninsured or under-insured of Stone and Taney counties.  Successful events include Meet the Doc as well as the 2015 Access to Healthcare Report.

Meet the Doc is a point of service event that aims to increase familiarity of healthcare workers to under and uninsured people.  Exhibitors representing various local healthcare and support services are available to assist participants in enrolling, scheduling and some screening activities.  Grant funding through the Skaggs Legacy Foundation has provided support in providing free medical and dental vouchers to those in need.

In late 2014 and early 2015, the Access to Care Action Team undertook a community access to healthcare assessment.  This assessment evaluated the healthcare system in Stone and Taney counties.  From the information reported, the team identified a series of priorities they plan to address in 2015 and 2016.
